Letter from the Principal Letter
Dear Mott Hall Families,
Welcome Back! We are excited to begin another year together at Mott Hall and welcome returning and new families to the 2020 – 2021 school year. We are pleased to announce that instruction will begin on September 21, 2020. The return to school will pose challenges, but we are confident and will move forward in a way that best serves the needs of our community while also achieving a safe environment for ALL.
We have worked hard to accommodate NYS and NYC DOE guidelines and feel confident to open our doors again. Our goal is to collaboratively ensure you feel safe and secure. Mott Hall continues to offer a quality education both in-person and virtually.
We will be beginning the school year with Blended Learning as well as 100% Remote Instruction for families who selected this option. Students participated in Orientation Days on September 16, 17 and 18th. Instruction began for ALL students (Blended and Remote) on September 21, 2020. Blended Instruction (In-Person) Learning will begin on October 1, 2020.
In order to ensure the safety of all students and staff who enter our building, we have new policies and procedures aligned to the CDC guidelines. These procedures are included in our Reopening Plan. We developed the plan with the input of administration, faculty, staff, parents and students. We have created this handbook to explain how we will function this school year inside the building and to support communication with all our Mott Hall community members. We are all responsible for reading the handbook in order to understand how we must implement new teaching and learning procedures and maintain a safe environment.
Staff members will remind students daily at school about how important it is to follow new protocols. I ask that we all continue to do our part in maintaining social distance protocols as well as testing when necessary so that we all can remain healthy and safe.

Thank you for your continued support. In collaboration,
Principal J. De Los Santos-Peña
